Privacy Policy (GDPR)

1. Controller

virtual-finder.com. Contact: privacy@virtual-finder.com

2. What We Process & Why

During pre-registration we only process your email address to send a sign-in link and launch updates (Art. 6-1-b — contract), plus security logs (IP, timestamp) under legitimate interest (Art. 6-1-f).

Optional IP-based approximate location: With your explicit consent (Art. 6-1-a) we can centre the map on your province using approximate IP geolocation. If you consent, the lookup goes directly from your browser to the GeoJS service (geojs.io); your IP never reaches our servers and is not stored by us. Your choice (allow/deny) is kept in a 1-year vf_geo cookie — delete the cookie to reset it.

Neighbourhood precision (separately optional): You may additionally grant your browser's location permission to centre the map at neighbourhood level. Your coordinates then go directly from your browser to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service to resolve the neighbourhood name — never to our servers. The resolved location is stored only on your device (browser storage, 30 days) and is not sent even via cookies. Reset everything via your browser's location permission and site-data settings.

Embedded YouTube videos on company pages: Companies may showcase videos hosted on their own YouTube channels. On page load only a static thumbnail is fetched from YouTube's image CDN; the video player (and Google's cookies) load from the cookie-reduced youtube-nocookie.com domain only after you click play. If you do not click, no YouTube player is loaded. Played videos are subject to YouTube's own privacy policy.

Profile view records: When you view a company page as a signed-in member, the view (your account + day, once per day) is recorded and shown to that company only at the level of your registered company's trade name, at day precision (Art. 6-1-f — legitimate interest). Your name, email or any personal detail is never shown; if you have no company, your company is not public, or it is a sole proprietorship, only an anonymous summary (e.g. "a member · Istanbul") appears. Named display is decided at viewing time: if your company was not public at that moment, past views are never named retroactively; if your company later turns public listing off, past records become anonymous immediately. Records are deleted within 90 days at the latest; anonymous visitors are not tracked at all.

Professional profile (job seekers): You may build your own professional profile (title, department, experience, skills, province/district, short headline). The profile is private by default— only you see it. If you tick "make visible" with your explicit consent (Art. 6-1-a), it becomes visible to companies only at title/sector/province level, with your name NEVER shown; you can switch it off at any time (withdrawal is recorded; history is not deleted). Email/phone/links in the headline are rejected server-side. CV file upload is not offered in this version. Sending a job application to a company is communication you initiate yourself; the platform does not act as an intermediary and never charges you (Turkish Labour Act No. 4904 Art. 19). Deleting your account deletes your profile.

3. Sharing & Retention

No third-party sharing. Pre-registration data is deleted after 12 months if no account is created; security logs are kept for 2 years.

4. Your Rights (Art. 15-22)

Access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection — write to privacy@virtual-finder.com.

5. Company Information from Public Sources

To provide sector visibility on the map, the Platform may compile legal-entity information only (trade name, city/district, sector, corporate website) from publicly available sources (corporate websites, corporate social media, open directories). Personal data of natural persons (names, personal phone/email, personal accounts) is not collected this way; sole traders are listed only through their own registration/consent. Source and date are recorded for each entry (Art. 6-1-f — legitimate interests, assessment on file). If you do not want your company listed, email privacy@virtual-finder.com — the entry is removed without question (target: 48 hours).

6. Updates

When company profiles and public listings launch, this policy will be updated with explicit consent mechanisms and you will be notified.
